My name is Vareshia Steverson, and I am an early childhood education professional, a mother, a
military leader with 18+ years of service, and an aspiring program director committed to creating safe,
nurturing, faithcentered learning environments for young children and their families.
My journey into early childhood education is deeply personal. As a mother of two, I have witnessed
firsthand the power of highquality early learning experiences. The curiosity, confidence, and growth I’ve
seen in my own children strengthened my belief that early childhood education is not just preparation
for school—it is the foundation for lifelong learning, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual development.
My experiences navigating child care as a single military parent also shaped my passion for supporting
families who face barriers to accessing reliable, highquality care.
My military background has played a major role in shaping the leader I am today. Over nearly two decades of service, I developed strong skills in communication, organization, supervision, cultural sensitivity, and team leadership. I learned how to remain calm under pressure, make ethical decisions, and guide others with clarity and compassion. These strengths translate naturally into early childhood administration, where leaders must balance responsibility, empathy, and professionalism every day. I am currently completing my degree in Early Childhood Education Administration, with the goal of becoming an assistant director and eventually opening my own faithbased early learning program. My longterm vision is to create a center where children feel loved, families feel supported, and staff feel valued and empowered. I believe in leading with integrity, modeling respect, and building a program culture rooted in trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
My leadership philosophy is grounded in the belief that every child is uniquely created with purpose and
potential. I am committed to developmentally appropriate practice, inclusive environments, and strong
family partnerships. I strive to be a leader who listens, advocates, and inspires—someone who creates
spaces where children thrive, families feel seen, and educators grow in their craft.
God’s Creation Early Learning Academy represents the heart of my mission: to nurture children in a safe,
loving, faithcentered environment where they can explore, learn, and become everything God created
them to be.
